ECO CLUB
Delhi Public School aims at adopting prolific strategies and new action plan as the teaching aids to train and teach ‘real lessons’ to the budding citizens of our country and help them better understand issues that lie at the interface of environment and development policy scenario on the basis of modern science and technology. The school fraternity is actively involved in environmental, social and developmental activities with special focus on climate change. The important among them are – Interactive Seminars, Detailed Case Study, Field Trips, Campus Cleanliness, Afforestation programme, Organizing Rallies, Debate Competition, Art Competition, Quiz, Street Plays, Poster/ Placard making, Replacing Non – Biodegradable Plastics by bags made of paper and cloth for creating environmental awareness among the residents of Duliajan and promote the concept of proper health and sanitation among them all. The Eco Garden, Children's Park and surroundings are impeccably blended with Flowering Plants, Fruit Plants, Medicinal Plants, Dust Bins, Compost Pit and Drains for proper disposal of waste materials. The Eco – Club of the school has students Members, Teachers and the Principal working with the common motto of establishing a new perspective in environmental education by exploring alternatives as mitigation measures and combat climate change by auditing the available resources.
GARDENING CLUB
Gardening Club is a humble effort towards guiding the students in taking care of plants and bringing them up. We are having 42 students in our club. They are divided into three groups of 14 members and engaged in the activities on the first Saturday of every month.
The activities conducted by gardening club are:-
- Preparation of soil and tub for plantation.
- Sowing seeds and growing them.
- Plantation of sapling and flowers.
- Preparation of bio-manure.
- Day to day care of the plants.
Students actively take part in those activities and demonstrate group work. More activities are planned to be taken up in the next session.
QUIZ CLUB
Quiz Club of DPS Duliajan comprises of around 200 students guided by 6 teachers. The entire group is divided into 3 groups as:
- Classes IV to VI : - Group A
- Classes VII to VIII : - Group B
- Classes IX to X : - Group C
We have a monthly meeting with the individual groups. In this meeting lot of discussions take place related to the various topics concerned with quizzing. The students gather their quiz questions mainly from the resource books of the library. Apart from this there is always a quiz session in the school assembly where all the four houses are focused to various questions based on different categories. This quiz session is taken up by the members of quiz club under the guidance of the teachers.
MUSIC CLUB
Music Club aims to bring out the hidden talent of students in music. The students are taught Indian Classical music, Western Rock, Pop music, Folk Music of Indian, Apart from singing, classes are also held on Drum, Guitar, Tabla, Keyboard. The students are encouraged to take part in various music competitions and also in the cultural events of the school held every year.. The students have also fared very well in various competitions.
DANCE CLUB
The Dance Club is engaged in teaching various dance forms. A few of them include Classical Dance( Bharatnatyam), Indian Folk dance, International Folk Dance, Creative Dance. Various dance programs are organized during the annual sports day and annual day of the school.
The dance troupes of DPS Duliajan have brought laurels to the school in various dance competitions.
ART & CRAFT
Delhi Public School, Duliajan has a nice, well equipped and well furnished Art room. At a time 30 students can work together. Apart from normal chairs, students can use donkey chairs or easels to do their drawings and paintings. This art room has few more facilities like –
Serigraphy (Screen print)
- Art room has expose box, printing table, serigraphy frame, screen and all other serigraphy materials.
- Wood Carving
- Wood carving tools, wooden hammer and materials are available.
- Paper pulp work
Students make paper pulp work using waste papers.
Normally students learn drawing and paintings in their own classes. Art room is used for other art activities like – pot painting, clay modeling, jewellery making, serigraphy, oil painting, wood carving, paper pulp work and all other craft works.
SCIENCE CLUB
Learning sciences involves learning to use ideas of science, interpret, explain and explores events and phenomena in the natural world. Learning can be done through activities where students use their senses, thinking and analyzing and writing their tested experiences. More importantly, students learn to work in a community, thereby taking on social responsibilities. The Science Club is the dearest club of the young scientists of the School. The Club has been helping out both individual students as well as student groups to perform curriculum-based experiments as well as projects. It is a place where various experiments are conducted by the enthusiastic members of the club to improve their problem solving, decision making; investigative skills. Here a whole lot of critical, analytical, technical and scientific dialogue takes place. Some of the events of the club are preparation of charts as per CBSE(X) syllabus, Science Quiz, making of three dimensional models, simple robots etc.
MATHEMATICS CLUB
A Math Club was formed two years back i.e, in the year of 2010. This is a part of CCE – curriculum by CBSE. The sole aim of this club is to organize different activities through out the year. The common topics on which activities are done are as follows:
- i) The number π .
- ii) Mathematics puzzle.
- iii) Magic square
- iv) Special numbers
- v) Fun game
- vi) Fibbonacci numbers
- vii) Rubik’s cube
- viii) Sudoku etc
The faculty Head is the in charge of the club. Along with the club incharge, few faculty members are also given responsibilities of the Mathematics club. Along with the different activities, some important days are also observed in our club, such as –

- ii) π approximation day
- iii) Ramanujan’s day etc
